The Hurricanes’ Rachel Priest wasted no time in bringing up her first WBBL century as fans went absolutely bananas over her innings.

Hobart Hurricanes captain Rachel Priest blasted her way to the first century of the WBBL season, smacking an unbeaten 107 runs from 65 deliveries against the Melbourne Stars.

The New Zealander opened the batting along with Ruth Johnston, but the latter was dismissed for just two runs as the Stars produced a masterclass of catching in the field.

However, despite Priest watching her batting partners continue to fall — the Hurricanes were 39/3 after seven overs — the Kiwi steadied the ship and produced a true skipper’s knock.

The 36-year-old let loose on her way to her century and belted 10 fours and seven sixes at Blundstone Arena to bring up the ton.

Fans were loving Priest’s innings as the Hurricanes look to take their form with the bat into their bowling.

The Hurricanes are already off to a flying start with the white ball, taking the early wickets of Stars openers Elyse Villani and Annabel Sutherland.
